Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 August 2026

Spinnr is a tennis match tracking app for Apple Watch. This policy describes what the app handles and where it goes.

The developer of Spinnr cannot see your match data, your health data, or your identity. There is no Spinnr account, no Spinnr server, and no analytics SDK in the app.

What the app handles

Match data. Scores, match format, date, and duration. Created on your watch when you score a match.

Health data. If you grant permission, Spinnr starts a workout session while you play and reads your heart rate and active energy from HealthKit. Average heart rate and active calories are stored alongside the match so you can see them in your history.

Health data is read through Apple’s HealthKit framework and stays under the permissions you grant. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app, and Spinnr will continue to work as a scorer without it. Spinnr does not use health data for advertising and does not share it with anyone.

Where it is stored

Match data is stored on your device and, when iCloud is available, in your own private iCloud database via Apple’s CloudKit. That container is tied to your Apple Account. The developer has no access to it — Apple’s infrastructure holds it, and it counts against your iCloud storage.

Health samples remain in HealthKit on your device and are governed by Apple’s own protections. Spinnr does not copy your raw health data into iCloud; only the summary figures attached to a finished match are stored with it.

Playing a match with someone else

When you play a two-watch match, one player creates a session and shares a short join code. For the duration of that match, the two watches exchange match data only — points scored, the current score, and the session status — through a shared iCloud record.

Your opponent sees the score. They do not see your heart rate, your calories, your other matches, or anything else in your Health app.

What is not collected

  • No advertising identifiers, and no advertising
  • No third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
  • No location data
  • No contacts, photos, or microphone access
  • No email address, name, or account of any kind

Notifications

Spinnr may use push notifications to tell you when the other player has joined or updated a two-watch match. These are delivered by Apple and contain match state only.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes its local data. To remove match data held in iCloud, sign in with the same Apple Account and delete the matches from within the app, or remove Spinnr’s data in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

To delete health data, use the Health app — it is yours, not Spinnr’s.

Children

Spinnr is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated date above will change and the revised policy will be published on this page.
